CLINICAL SERVICES
We provide a variety of professional services, including short-term counseling, psychological/educational testing, psychiatric consultation, and referrals. Counseling services are provided by Ph.D.-level licensed professional counselors and licensed psychologists. Psychiatric services are provided by board-certified consulting psychiatrists.
Individual, Couples, and Group Counseling: We provide short-term counseling for students seeking assistance with challenges of college and life. These counseling sessions typically last 45-50 minutes. Stress, academic pressures, relationships and family concerns, depression, test anxiety, disordered eating, grief, and self-esteem issues are some common reasons students request counseling.
Personal growth and various support groups are formed to meet needs of students on specific issues... Our Fusion group for female students will meet on Tuesdays from 3:30-4:30 p.m. and our support group for International Students will meet on Thursday from 3:30-4:30. Both groups will begin in late September. Please call us at 817-257-7863 for more information.
Crisis Intervention: We are available for walk-in crisis appointments Monday-Friday from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Our Center is located at 2825 Stadium Drive (the West Entrance of the Brown-Lupton Health Center). If there is an emergency after hours, please call the Campus police at 817-257-7777 or dial 911.
Psychiatric Evaluation/Consultation: Psychiatric evaluations and consultations are available for students who are using our counseling services. Students seeking longer-term medication management and who are not in counseling will be referred to providers in the community.
